Guest guest
Hello... I have a ton of experience w/ this... it's a lot to type. However, I went to Star once a week for 3 weeks w/ my twins for "adjustments"....finally they ordered me new ones after new scans at no extra cost to me. Now things are 200% better! Go w/ your instinct. Also, we switched to a different orthotist in the office & she "gets" me a lot better! But I know it's frustrating. We started Dec.23rd & didn't really start w/ full time where until one month later due to all the improper fits/adjustments. Hang in there!!!! Our son has been in the STARband helmet two weeks on Wednesday. I'm getting VERY frustrated and I need some input. The first day we received the helmet, I didn't think it fit correctly. I mentioned it and they said, "It will slide a little until your son has more 'contact' points."I thought this sounded strange but I'm trusting them...I don't know what is/isn't supposed to happen. About 4 days into wearing the helmet, I called and explained that it was sliding over our sons eyes. They told me to come in and they put a "bumper" in the front to prevent sliding. Today was our "almost" 2 week check-up and the helmet is still sliding up/down and right/left. The orthotist said he "fixed" it...I left and now I still see it sliding!!! Can someone with experience please tell me what to do?? I've already called and I'm going back today after our son get's up from his nap. I'm just really frustrated and I feel like I'm going in circles. Is this normal or is the helmet improperly made?THANK YOU!~
Guest guest
Ugh, we're in the same boat. Got the band 2 weeks ago and it pops off everytime she lays down. So much for wearing it 23 hours a day. The orthotist just keeps blaming her " changing " head and has put a pad on the top covering her breathing hole and a huge ledge in the back. Still coming off. I asked about a new helmet and he just said the same thing would happen. This cannot be right! UGH! Time is of the essence. I know we are just ONE patient to him but he is all we have. So frustrating.
Guest guest
do you have an option of a different ortho? " popping off " is not a common problem. I also have not heard of this " changing head " problem. Some babies do outgrow the band between ordering and it arriving, but this is not common. You need to insist on a new band, either here or elsewhere. I would call who ever is needed to make this happen (this guys boss, the company making the band, etc). -christine sydney, 5 yrs, starband grad > > Ugh, we're in the same boat. Guest guest
GREAT NEWS...they agreed to make a new band!! It took 2 weeks of constant " fighting " to get them to agree. I was in their office 5 times last week...I guess that's what it took! Our band should be ready on Wednesday. ~ > > > > Ugh, we're in the same boat.
