Hi ,

I got my daughter's starband in CA, but I think i remember hearing good things

about kidi-splint (i've been in this group for years). I don't recall the other

one. You can try searching old messages too, but doesn't always do well

with that.

My son is 10 months old and we just completed 12 weeks in the helmet with

Kidi-Splint. I cannot rave highly enough about our experience with Kidi-Splint.

Rochelle, the orthotist, is amazing! Not only is she technically proficient

(decades of experience, 2000+ helmets, etc.), but also very empathetic since her

child and grandchild both had to wear a helmet. Such personal experience

enabled her to fully relate to my fears & concerns, a trait I found invaluable

during my 3 months with her. She was incredibly accessible, answering texts,

phone calls and e-mails well beyond normal business hours. I would often send

her pictures of red marks on my son's head to see if I needed to be concerned

and visit her in the office. Additionally, she has Sunday hours. Overall, her

experience, bedside manner and accessibility make Rochelle incredibly unique (in

my opinion) and we are thrilled with the results! I am so happy that we chose

Kidi-Splint. By the way, I live in Manhattan.

You don't have to go to a provider the neuro recommends... you can also search

for DOC Band, STAR Band, or Hanger providers in your area. Who you end up with

might also depend on who (if anyone) is covered by your insurance. I go to the

Cranial Technologies (DOC Band) provider in Paramus, NJ - they wouldn't be that

far from NYC.
