Guest guest
, Yes, feeling crummy in the beginning.... flu-like symptoms, headache, fatigue, etc.... is very common due to bacterial die-off. This is temporary and can be somewhat relieved by baths with epsom salts, and/or taking supplemental activated charcoal to help sop up the toxins. Best wishes.... I had a minor case of shingles about 11 yrs ago.... and still have tingling spots on my upper left chest area, right under my collar bone, where one of the outbreak lesions was located. When I get really run down, I feel it more.... I do think there can be permanent nerve damage.... but there are all kinds of things one can do to follow-up on these viruses that like to hang out in our bodies. Patti day 13 on scd - depression, anxiety.help I came down with a troubling case of shingles (left-rib cage) in January 05. From the outset of this illness, I've experienced periodic bouts of nausea, depression, aches, fatigue, and anxiety (none of these characterized me prior to shingles). The aches occur primarily on the left-side of my body (gut and other areas). Sometimes they are experienced with a tingling or slight burning sensation. These episodes extend anywhere from a few days to more than a week at a time. They've occurred off and on now for the past 21+ months. Until recently, I've chalked up these ongoing episodes to the after-effects of shingles. I began to question this viewpoint after I began reading Elaine Gottschall's book two weeks ago. I now suspect that these flare-ups may be due to an unbalanced gut ecology and problems with digesting carbohydrates. My first day on the diet was Monday 12/4. I felt really good on the diet for the first week. The second week however has been a different story: depression, anxiety, nightmares, nausea, chills, etc have returned. Is it common to experience regression early on in the diet? I'm new to the board and have only read a few posts so far. Can anyone shed some light based on your experiences?
