Withdrawal symptoms

Hi all,

I've got a question based only on curiousity. What symptoms have you

experienced when

first going through withdrawal from an analgesic that you've been using for a

long time?

Twice now I've forgotten to put a new duragesic patch on after showing and

removing my

old patch. On both occasions, within 12 hours of going without the patch, I've

gone into

terrific problems with limb restlessness. So bad that I can't sit or lie still,

and find my

hands, arms and legs constantly jerking around and having to move. Of course,

by the

time this starts happening I then realize that I've forgotten to put on a new

patch, and it

takes several hours for it to " kick in " once I do put it on.

What can you do for restless limb syndrome? Will taking another faster acting

analgesic

like my oxycodone help relieve this?

I know I experienced this and much, much worse last year when I had to go

through

withdrawal for a full week without my meds, due to them being lost while

traveling and my

running short one time.

I don't expect this to happen again, but would like to know what, if any, kind

of med you

can take to overcome this first symptom. It's a horrible experience and when my

husband

first witnessed me this way he was frantic with concern.

With love, hope and prayers,
