Both my Hemotologist and my surgeon recommended I do not start it with my CP and pending whipple surgery.< Cecilia, I've got osteoporosis in my hip and osteopenia elsewhere. I've got a meeting scheduled with my GI on Wednesday to discuss meds for it. The PA had said he'd probably go with Fosomax, but I remember him mentioning it last year and I thought he was negative about it for some reason. I won't know until Wednesday what he actually plans to prescribe. One thing about the Fosomax that might interfere with your planned surgery and down time in the hospital is that you take the medicine first thing in the morning, and then you have to remain upright on your feet for half an hour after taking it. If you were in bed in the hospital, you wouldn't be able to do that. With love, hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H.
