Guest guest
Hi luandbeansmom, No, it is not. The GFCF allows starches and sugars that feed the bacteria in our kids' gut. These bacteria cause pain and inflamation in the gut and the brain. The younger a child starts out with SCD, the easier it to do the diet. I should know. I did GFCFSF with my 2 kids for 9 years. My daughter was fully compliant until she was 11 years old when she rebelled at GFCFSF. We changed to SCD about two years later and she refused to comply with that diet also. Fortunately, my son loves SCD and has surpassed his sister in reducing ASD symptoms. I wish that I had done SCD earlier so that my daughter could have had the benefit of SCD during her compliant years!!!
