Guest guest
Sorry for the cheesiness of this email...I'm actually cutting/pasting something I wrote to another person earlier only because I'm so weak and still not good after this awful attack from the demons from hell which I'll semi-describe below. But, what I need help on are success/failure stories on celiac plexus blocks. I'm scheduled for one tomorrow at 10 am..I'm sooo hoping it will work. Also, please let me know if you think they're more likely to work on someone with (a) SOD and ( EARLY cp....like since last Jan/Feb timeframe...i.e., are they more like to work in someone that hasn't had cp for very long than in someone say that has had cp for YEARS? Sorry I haven't written much....but here is why in a sort of summary.... my Mom is here on an emergency visit because I've been soooooo sick. It all started last Tuesday when I )stupidly in retrospect!) started getting constipated which apparently can cause nausea which I've had SEVERELY, OVERWHELMINGLY since last week. Tried to get myself " cleaned out " with enemas, suppositories, etc., finally went to doc on Thursday and he advised (stupidly!!) to take an entire bottle of magnesium citrate.....well, I did and had the most severe case of pancreatitis and nausea at the same time that I actually thought I was going to die....went to ER, they basically did nothing but treat the pain and nausea with dilaudid and phenergan. Tomorrow am scheduled for a celiac plexus block after spending almost all day today at the pain management specialist on an emergency appt. I have NEVER had an attack like that and hope I NEVER do again. I really just wanted to die...mostly the nausea, I just couldn't stand it it was so awful!!! Couldn't sleep, could't eat...nothing.....nothing was helping. Went outta here in the ambulance on Sunday to ER (as mentioned above.).....these doctors are clueless....put a call into Dr. L....he said they NEVER should have advised magnesium citrate in that amount in a patient with a pancreas problem (however, this was the doctor he recommended.....go figure.) gotta go for now.....please say a prayer that this celiac plexus block works....I sure am. I can't take this anymore...and of course, now this new doc is refusing to sign onto the disability retirement thing because I've only seen him twice. Well, hello, not my fault that you book like 3 months out......take care and hope you're ok. love, P.S. If you know of anything about the celiac plexus blocks please let me know ok?
