Guest guest
My son has been on SCD since late October. He is still on stage one eating organic meat patties, peeled and cooked golden delicious apples and peaches, goat yogurt, one or maybe two ripe bananas, and squash buttons made with egg whites and acorn squash. Here is the problem - he will do really well for about a week with his bm's going each day with them being from soft to formed without us having to give him anything to get him to go. This is a huge improvement from before SCD. But, then he will go for several days without having a bm and we will end up having to give him magnesium citrate and vitamin C in large doses to get him going again. We haven't changed his diet, the poor kid eats pretty much the same thing every day. He has now gone for several days without having a bm. It is so frustrating that we can't seem to get him regulated long enough for me to try to add in some new foods. Everytime I think he is on track and I can maybe add something new, he does this and I don't want to add anything until I get him going again. Is this a typical cycle that people see at the beginning? I'm also struggling with what to add in next. I know he needs more veggies, but getting him to eat them is nearly impossible, and then finding some he will tolerate adds another problem. He doesn't tolerate zucchini, butternut, avocado, pumpkin. I bought some yellow squash, but I'm not sure how to fix it in a way he might try it. I'm just getting frustrated because I'm seeing so much improvement, and then we seem to take a couple of steps backwards.
