Guest guest
There appear to be more babies banded late that had plagio than brachy. My daughter is one of the exceptions, although she was later than your son and we did a STARband. She was banded one week before she turned 15 months. She started at 95 percent and ended at 92.2 percent. At 13 months, I would think that the correction would be even more. Those couple of months could make a huge difference. Just take a look at the charts for head growth. There is more head growth between 12 and 15 months than between 15 and 18 months for the average baby. However, more than likely, you will get the full 16 weeks out of your second band. But, you might be able to get the same amount of correction in those 4 months than you did in the last 3 months in the first band. Good luck Question for those that started late... My son just finished treatment with his first DOC band. He started at 10 months and is now 13 months. He will be getting his second DOC band in two weeks. He started out with fairly severe brachy but has had a lot of improvement in his first band. I know he probably won't get as much out of his second band but we're hoping for a little more improvement. To anyone whose child had a band past 13 months, how much more correction did you get? Thanks for any input!
