Guest guest
Hi I have been using Kirkman's Enzym- complete. I see it contains disaccarides lactase, maltase is it still legal? Also it contains Protease th kiwi Bromelain,Papain Are these ok for a child with Autism? I notice GI PRO health prozymes says it avoids excessive amounts of proteases. Guest guest
Hi Niall, << Hi I have been using Kirkman's Enzym- complete. > I see it contains disaccarides lactase, maltase is it still legal? >> Lactase and maltase are not disaccharides. They are both disaccharidASES. LactAse is the enzyme that digests lactOse. MaltAse is the enzyme that digests maltOse. The difference in the similar sounding words i have changed to upper case. The dissacharides (sugars)end in " -ose " , the enzymes end in " -ase " . << Also it contains Protease th kiwi Bromelain,Papain > Are these ok for a child with Autism? >> Protease, bromelain and papain are all legal enzymes for any SCDer. Sometimes people are not ready to tolerate them or able to tolerate certain concentrations of enzymes. For those people allowing more healing before the introduction of enzymes, different formulations of enzymes or gradually increasing the amounts can help. << I notice GI PRO health prozymes says it avoids excessive amounts of proteases. >> Some people are sensitive to proteases at the beginning of the diet and others are not. There are many different typres and brands of formulations of enzymes for those who wish to use them on the diet.
