Hello all. I have a question. Is it possible to get a diagnosis of

chronic pancreatitis without having any damage to my pancreas seen.

I've been sick for about a year and half and now have constant daily

pain in my left upper quadrant. My lipase is constantly elevated

from about 650 - 5000. Yet on every test my pancreas looks fine.

I've had 2 MRCP, 2 ultrasounds, 4 CT scans, 2 ERCPS. There is no

damage seen to my pancreas seen, so my doc keeps telling me it might

not be pancreatitis. I have pancreas divisum.

But i'm always in pain now, so nauseaus, sweating and feel sick

after I eat. I can't sleep at all on my left side cause it hurts so

much. I'm on MS contin 30mg every 12 hours, 10mg Amitrypiline once

a day and 10mg maxeran three times a day. My gall bladder has to

come out cause it's full of stones. And my doc tells me it should

stop my flare ups but not the daily pain. So why does he still not

give me a diagnosis of pancreattitis? I'm sick of being sick

without any diagnosis or answers. Is he going to wait ten years til

it's showing damage before giving me a diagnosis? Thanks for any

help. Jen
