Guest guest
Hi Kim. I know Dr. Cotton and I think you need to talk with him again. When you had the sphincterotomy, did you get some relief from pain? Did Dr. Cotton mention a sphincter of oddi manometry. Or placing stents? Dr. Cotton is a wonderful man and one of the best pancreatologist in the world. He and some others invented the ERCP procedure. I used to work on a unit where I took care of many of Dr. Cotton's patients and he is a wonderful physician and very approachable. He will be more then willing to talk with you about all this, might need to make an appt tho. I know how frustrating it is not knowing how you got cp. That same question brothered me a lot, an obsession almost. But mine was many factors put together. But you know what I did figure out. Its not what caused it but what am I going to do about it. I think that is something you need to think about too. What are you going to need to help you get back to living a normal life? What do you want? There are a lot of things you can do to help yourself as well. Dietary changes can help a lot and supplementing your diet with antioxident, minerals and trace elements can make quite a difference in how you feel. A lot of people swear by them. Call Cotton or send him an email, he will write you back. He is one of the nicest docs I have every worked with. As a matter of fact the entire group at the DDC at MUSC are 14th in the nation as one of the best. I have been both a nurse and a patient in the DDC and was very pleased with the quality of care they offer. Looking back is not going to change the future, so you might as well just keep looking forward. I hope this helps some way Chrissy
