Guest guest
Hey guys, As a religious liberal, I think that I may have some advice to give here... If not, just hit delete! I don't think that anyone gets offended by the mere use of God's name or prayer requests. I think that people get touchy when the list is used to get preachy. Like the posts about Pres. Bush and his prayer requests for/from the nation. We can and should be able to make prayer requests for each other. However, I think that the line gets blurred when people start mixing politics and religion, or just use this as a forum to forward their own religious or political beliefs. I must admit to not particularly liking to read about Bush's faith in this forum. (So I hit delete!) However, it does not offend me in the least to have a prayer requested for someone who is ill. It is very easy to assume that everyone feels to same way we do, no matter who we are or what our beliefs. Like Heidi said, if we are respectful and tolerant there really shouldn't be a problem! If someone feels compelled to write about a particular politician or their faith then noting that in the subject line should be sufficient to alert those of us who are not interested to delete. I'm not at all interested in censoring anyone -- just a polite notice about political or religious content off topic would be sufficient in my book. Maybe "opinion alert! -- OT" would be a good marker! Kathleen (Tx) "How we spend our days is, of course, how we spend our lives."
