Guest guest
Hi , I have also not had any success using the Progurt starter with goat's milk. It came out runny(WATERY runny) every time and even with dripping did not improve much. I use the starter from Custom Probiotics for goat milk yogurt, (www.customprobiotics.com/yogurt_starter.htm). It does not make a yogurt quite as thick as one gets with cow milk but it certainly is a lot closer to regular yogurt consistency. Dripping it through a cotton hankerchief gives it a perfect consistency. The Progurt starter works great for cow's milk, I have not had any problems with it. It also has the advantage of giving the yoghurt a very smooth mild taste. If you do not want to change starters, you could try putting in more of the starter than is suggested on the package. My husband has had success getting a thicker yogurt by doing this. Definitely make sure your milk has cooled right down to room temperature before adding the starter, I have had bad batches when not letting it cool enough. scd 3+ years, 7yr old asd On Dec 28, 2006, at 5:20 PM, pecanbread wrote: > Yogurt mess > Posted by: " hugs_may99 " hugs4Him99@... hugs_may99 > > Thu Dec 28, 2006 10:39 am (PST) > Twice now I've tried to make yogurt only to have it all watery.
