Shana Tuesday morning

Dear friends and family,

An article detailing Shana’s transplant appeared in

today’s Philadelphia Inquirer newspaper. Here is the link for it:

She still has not woken up from her slumber, but the

Doctors said she is doing well.

One doctor told me her X-ray showed “some wetness” on her lungs, so they

were going to give her medicine to help that. Also, her blood pressure

is a little low, but again, the doctors don’t seem concerned. For my

final worry of the morning, the doctors are starting to give her an

antibiotic that she is allergic too (one of the only ones that still

kills her bacteria), and the last time she was on this she had trouble

breathing.

Now, to pepper my worries with praise:

1. The initial operation didn’t start as soon as planned, so Shana

had time to be with her family and friends.

2. A family friend, Dave Santos (Shana’s new Knight in Shining

Armor), was home to receive her call and took her to the hospital.

3. Shana had just finished a three week course of antibiotics

about five days prior to the operation, so her bacteria levels were low

and she still had time to flush the antibiotics out of her system.

4. Shana has color in her face for the first time in years.

5. I have great insurance through Verizon, so the hospital bill is

100% covered.

6. Shana’s nurse and friend who did physical therapy on her every

day for the past several years was offered a better job the same day

Shana came out of surgery.

7. My boss is being very cool about giving me time off to be with

Shana

8. Thousands of prayers to God for Shana and me.

9. Plenty more, but I have to go…
