need advice regarding pancreatic enzymes

My husband Mark was told on Thursday that they consider him to one of

the unfortunate with Chronic Pancratitis. They have put him on

pancreatic enzymes that he must take with everything he eats or

drinks. They are sending him to a pain management doctor for

stronger pain meds.

My question - how long before he will notice a difference in the pain

level after eating with the enzymes he is taking? Have any of you

had experiences with the enzymes helping or not helping?

He is pretty upset over the diagnosis - we've been fighting with this

since Spet. 2004. He still has not been released to return to work

and we are in the process of filing SSI disability.

Any advice would be great.
