My 7 month old premie daughter has plagiocephaly. We went for evals at both CT

and Hangar in Connecticut. Cranial tech seems much more sufficient at what they

do but Hangar is less expensive and partially covered with insurance whereas CT

is not. Can anyone share their experiences with Hangar? I know CT has raving

reviews but I am curious to experiences with Hangar. We obviously want what is

best for our little one! I am not concerned about 'looks' as much as results and

comfort for my child.

Thank you! All comments are very much appreciated!

You might want to post your specific Hanger location since there is likely more than one in Connecticut. Experiences can vary from one Hanger location to another. I have heard of both good and bad experiences so maybe someone will know something specific about your location and can help you more specifically.

My dd had Hanger. If using Hanger It really depends on the ortho and the quality of the band, which you will not know until after you get the band.

We saw good results... but needed a 2nd band and the 2nd band never fit correctly. If I knew then what I know now... I would have chosen DOC from the start. I've heard too many horror stories, and experienced it (on a smaller scale) 1st hand.

we went to a hanger location and had a horrible experience just trying to get past the part where they take measurements. so we ended up at Cranial Tech. And the results were amazing my son got banded at around 7 months had 16mm after 1st band he was down to 11. when done with 2nd band he was a 4. almost a 3. I have seen babies that went to hanger and 2 people stated that baby only wears it for 8 wks. and both babies still were siginificantly flat. I would totally go to Cranial. We drove over 2 hrs every 2 wks to go to cranial in ct. and they are amazing there.

I second the earlier post about needing to hear from the local crowd about your

own Hanger. We are using Hanger right now (andria, VA) and are very pleased

with the orthotist and the band.

Best of luck!

I agree you need to find about about the ortho experience, even if you choose CT

I would check about the specific ortho experience. We chose hanger band because

that was esentially our only option, however we had a great orthotist and a

great fitting band, my son went form 12 mm to 3 mm in one band.
