Guest guest
I'm glad that the info is helpful to you. Mention to you doc octreotide (sp?) its the same thing as sandostantin (again sp?) they have eased some of my discomfort quite a bit. It doesn't take the pain away it just lessens it. They last about 3 weeks for me. I have takled with my doc about the blocks but he insists that I need the tp/ict. My pancreas deteriorated very rapidly from the onset of sypmtoms. I had an ercp that showed focal pancreatitis in the head then 6 months later it had increased to complete fibrosis in the head with dilation clubbing and stenosis throughout. Totally freaked them out. Even Dr. Cotton said that I would have to have a total and he's the guy that invented the ercp, with collegues of course. Maybe thats why the guy in Cinci has been so reluctant, not many people progress that way. I have a local er, 30 miles away, but I wouldn't send my dog there. I go, if I go, and I dont go unless absolutely necessary, only been 3 times, to the er at MUSC which is about 45 miles away. I worked there for years. Well let me tell you, I had gone acute while working, the doc said acute, I dont think so, anyway, I go to the er in my nurses uniform with my musc badge on and I still got the run around. Its just the nature of the er beast. I dont know why they are so reluctant to treat pain, I guess they just see so many people they get hard headed. Good luck with the block and ask about the octreotide inj. Ithink it really helps. Warmly, Chrissy
