Successful Starband treatment - Silas W.

My son Silas started treatment for torticollis and positional plagio (tilted to left, looked right) at 8 weeks old. He was in PT from October 2009 to May 2010 (when insurance would no longer pay for it). He got his StarBand helmet in January 2010 (when he was 5 months old) and just got it off after 6 months on July 20th. The difference in his diagonal measurements is still 4.2mm, but we were pleased with that--very pleased! (His starting difference in January was 15.4mm.) As our pediatrician said, "we're not making a bowling ball!" I have posted some pictures on the group website, listed with the plagio babies S for Silas W.That's for the support of everyone who contributes to this list. While not all comments are helpful to every parent's situation, I was just comforted in knowing that we weren't alone, and I hope that families and pediatricians everywhere continue to learn more about plagio and similar problems so that our babies get the treatment they deserve!
