Guest guest
Savannah is on an IEP. She is under OHI (other health impaired). I have a very long one. I always take a friend with me to the meetings and you can always ask to tape record the meeting. You are not required to sign anything right then. I have up to 3 days to decide if I agree with what is written. Always remember you are part of the team and you can add or take away to the IEP. Now this isn't everything on Savannah's but it's a start for a lot of you. 1. Unlimited bathroom breaks 2. Single desk (not to sit in groups) 3. Own trash bag or can at desk 4. Own supplies (crayons, scissors, etc.) 5. Teacher(s) that don't smoke 6. No air fresheners (candles, popuporri, etc.) 7. Desk to be wiped down daily 8. Own box of Kleenex 9. Peer guide- to help go to office or nurses office 10. Unlimited trips to nurse 11. Temperature checks (i.e. above or below _ to go outside on playground) 12. Change of clothes in nurses off ice 13. Transportation (we have door to door service) Yes, they do wipe the seat down for Savannah 14. Two sets of books (one for home and one left at school) 15. Snacks 16. Extra helpings at lunch or being able to buy 2 lunches 17. Shortened day (4 hr). 18. We stated that the 10 day waiting period to start homebound or return to school be cut down to 3 days. 19. Have a health plan added. This is everything you want done in case of emergency. Savannah's doctor looks over mine and signs it. 20. Always get copies of everything. I hope this helps. Please feel free to E mail me if you need anymore help. Remington Mom to 2 w/o CF and Savannah w/ CF
