Guest guest
The last time Dr.Cotton discovered a draining problem with my bile ducts he preformed a sphincterotomy...I am having a problem with it draining properly again and was wondering if a sphincterotomy can be repeated. It was done in July, and apparently didn't work because I have had pain and attacks since and my levels are slowly creeping up. I've heard the use of a balloon to aid in stretching the ducts is sometimes attempted...can someone explain this and how long the hospital stay following this procedure is? Is it effective when all else has failed? If stenting, sphincterotomy, and ballooning doesn't " fix " the problem, what then? Thanks for letting me ask my 20 questions for the day!! :0)---Kim S.
