Guest guest
The best pre-op advice I got was to keep a notebook with copies of everything!!! I used one with the plastic slip-in sleeves. Everywhere I went the notebook went. Every time I got an answer of " we don't have it " . I whipped out a copy and FAXed it to a particular person. Even in my check-in with Dr. R at clinic I still needed PCP address and FAX. Just went back to the car for my red notebook. Dr. R. loved it. I took it into my meeting with him. I am the one that a few of the group said they hated. I submitted my packet, went to clinic, got prior approval, and had surgery within two weeks. I asked for a cancellation at Tuesday's clinic and got Friday surgery. Not luck, but determination and GET THE NAME OF EVERYONE YOU TALK TO EVERYWHERE AND HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE FOR YOUR PAPERS. Remember the ABC's of education - we are all accountable for everyone we touch and teach. It makes sense. Attach a name and people begin to feel accountable. Even one of Dr. R's nurses said I couldn''t get my insurance approval so fast. BCBS is on my good list for now.
