Hi Rupesh,

In my case, exercise makes my pancreas pain alot worse. It also

seems to aggravate the biliary blockage. But, it is very important

to keep active so it is a hard thing to advise one way or the

other....other than the usual advice of let your body be your guide.

Start off slow, take breaks, drink lotsa water and if you feel alot of

pain or fatigue while exercising either stop or ease up

considerably. I have learned through trial and error that alot of

bending, lifting, jiggling (like riding a lawnmower) will make the

pain level elevate to a pretty high degree. It becomes very hard to

find that fine line of too much activity and the right amount so you

don't lose cardiovascular fitness.

Like anything with CP - you can only figure it out by giving it a try!

Hi; I thinkit is an excellent idea for you to want to work out and

join a gym. I have been thinking a lot about returning to the gym

myself. Most good gyms have fitness trainers that are willing to

work with you for free as part of the membership. You can explain

your situation, the areas in which you feel you are weak, and your

goals. These trainers will help you to reach your goal. Also by

strengthening your core; the middle of your body; you may increase

your resistence to pain. Exercise is always a good idea and I am

just waiting for the surgeon to say when it is ok for me to return.

Once I got into a routine of going I really enjoyed it a lot and

ended up missing it a lot too. Besides it was kind of fun watching

all those other folks too.

Please let me know how it goes for you.
