Guest guest
help! am i on the right track? i feel like we are eating so little, and making gains overall in decreasing eczema, but my daughter still flares up consistently. it's day 12 on SCD. right now we are eating: chicken broth broiled chicken, beef, turkey steamed spinach, green beans, artichokes poached eggs diluted cherry juice (very sparingly, about 2 oz a day) pureed banana " shake " homemade applesauce we tried these, but i decided to cut them out to see if that might stop the flare ups: veggie-egg " pizza " avocado almond butter-banana muffins homemade mayo we don't eat honey or any other sweetener because of yeast. her only sweet thing is cooked apple or ripe banana, or the tiny bit of diluted juice i give her for taking her chinese herbs with. i cut out the above foods because i thought they were the most likely to have caused problems (eczema flare ups and green mushy stools), but i really feel like it's impossible to tell what is causing the problems. sometimes i see her scratching immediately upon eating. but it doesn't always make sense. this morning she was scratching after drinking some chicken broth. could it be that things are just tumultuous in the beginning and her body is just not settled yet, making it look like she's reacting to everything? should i just stick to these stage 1 & some stage 2 foods for a while and see if things settle down? do i really need to cut out some of the veggies? i feel like the lack of variety is not healthy for us anymore. i suspect that eating so many eggs and meat has given us both sour stomachs all the time. i'm confused about goat yogurt as well. we have been dairy free for a couple of months now. is it too soon to start the yogurt? i made some and it's in the fridge waiting. i was going to try 1/8 tsp per day. i wonder if that could help her gut to deal with the yeast. thanks silvia, daughter with eczema (2) and dairy sensitivity, SCD day
