Guest guest
most orthos use starband instead of starlight, but i don't know why. starlight is clear and is shaped by heating the plastic to make more room. starband is like a docband with a layer of foam that is shaved out to make room as the head grows. I have heard of good experiences with starlight, but I think it is used less, thus I've heard fewer reviews. As for smell, I wouldn't even consider that in the criteria. That is a minor annoyance, and the goal is to correct the head shape. I would see how much experience your othro has with both bands. Experience is much more important that avoiding a little unpleasant smell. as for skin irritation, I don't think it differs much between the two bands. the only advantage with starlight is you can see any sores through the band since it is clear plastic. -christine sydney, 4.5 yrs, starband grad > > Just got back from my son's evaluation, Orthotist recommends starlight over starband. Apparently STARband helmets tend to smell really band??? And irritate the baby's skin?? Does anyone have this problem?? Please advice, confused on which one I should use on my son. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. > > Thanks. >
