Janet, I'm so sorry you are feeling so bad. I remember when my doctor tried

to change me from the oxycontin to the duragesic patch, and I made myself

suffer needlessly for 3-4 days. I wanted to try to make it work, but the

patch wasn't helping with the pain like the oxycontin was. I called him on

the phone and he never called me back. I finally (through my husband's

insistence) made an appointment and went in to talk to the pain management

doctor. This had happened over a weekend, and he said you should have

called me at home. I never want you to have to suffer. I said you really

want me to call you at home? He said if I didn't I wouldn't have put my

phone number in the book! Anyway, he said " what do you want to do? " I said

I want back on what I was taking before, just increase that a little bit.

Since then it has never been a problem. I've had a couple of nerve blocks

which has helped with the pain a bit, so I've been able to cut down on the

Actiq pops from 800 mgs. to 400 mgs., and sometimes I can miss one of my

pills. So, heading in the right direction. But when I went to see him last

week I was so nervous because I was afraid he would have wanted me to cut

back more, but he was so understanding, and I had really gotten myself all

worked up over it! Anyway, can you call your doctor and tell him what you

told us? Hang in there!

HUGS,

Robin R.
