Guest guest
That's all mine did too and it turned out fine. The initial visit is more extensive measuring to evaluate and diagnose but they don't have to re-do that every visit. Ours didn't check the ears like yours is though. > > My son has been in his cranial band for 4 weeks now. The good news is that I am seeing quite a difference in his head shape and he is growing rather quickly (he grew 3 centimeters in one week!) Our technician thinks that he should be completely treated by the end of another month which is very exciting. My question is, what have other parents experienced with WHAT is actually done at each visit? Our technician comes in, measures around his head to see how much he's grown, compares his original head mold to his head at the time, leaves to shave down the inner foam and that's it. She doesn't take any other measurments like they did during our initial consultation. She has lined her fingers up when she sticks them in his ears to check if his ears have moved, but that's hardly accurate. She's very nonchalant about it all. Is it just me, or should there be more going on at the visit? Maybe that's all that's supposed to go on and if so, I would feel alittle bit better, but I have nobody else to ask, so please let me know. BTW, we go to CT. > > **Next time I'm going to insist she measure where his ears are and compare those to his beginning measurements. > > Thank you very much! >
Guest guest
Our son is now in his 6th week and this is what has gone on at every visit..from what I hear about CT this is very normal. Our son was symetrical so we didn't have that probelm in the begining but she does put a sock thing on his head(he has a lot of hair and it sticks up sometimes) and compare it with the head mold. She takes some off at certain visits and in certain spots when she sees fit. She explains to us what she is going to do and why. If you want them to do something by all means you should ask them to do it, we actually go every 2 weeks and twice now have gone in a week early because we thought something was wrong or didn't like the way a certain part of his head looked. The CT PT's want to make sure you are comfortable also, so dont be afraid to ask them or tell them things. This is a very important part because you are with your baby 24/7 and if you are unsure about something bring it up!! Our PT is very good, she always listens to our concerns and then checks it out and fixes it if she sees fit. > > My son has been in his cranial band for 4 weeks now. Guest guest
Thank you SO much for your responses! It makes me feel 100% better that this is the norm for what should be happening. I guess that between the fact that it's my baby's head and how much money the treatment costs, I thought each visit would be alittle more entailed. Our Pt is very nice too, like I said, just very nonchalant. She also puts the sock on his head because of all his crazy hair. Critter Lover, I'm sorry that you're going through this! It is already a tough situation, and for things to be going anything less than perfect, would drive anyone crazy! Best of luck to you and I hope that your babes treatment shows progress and puts your mind at ease! Thank you again!!! > > My son has been in his cranial band for 4 weeks now.
