You don't have to follow it but it is helpful: Cottage cheese is on the 2-3 day intro diet in the cheesecake recipe. It's on the same link. > I am a little confused. > > I am the mother of a 4-year-old boy, and > We have been gluten free/casein free for a year and saw little > results. No rice, corn, soy, potatoes and some other root vegetables like parsnips and sweet potaoes or yams Read why SCD goes beyond the GFCF Diet: http://www.pecanbread.com/new/aboutscd.html (bottom of page) > > > As soon as he eats something starchy, his attention span is gone- > literally. any help would be gratefully appreciated for an exact > layout of the first week of the diet. thanks!!! > Please read the book, " Breaking the Vicious Cycle " by Elaine Gottschall and the entire website mentioned before: which is the offivial website for the ASD version of SCD: www.pecanbread.com also: www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info Carol F. Guest guest
You don't have to use the cottage cheese. It is allowed... but that doesn't mean you MUST use it. If your child has been CF prior to starting SCD, we suggest you start the diet dairy free. If you choose to introduce some legal dairy products in the future, we suggest beginning with SCD yogurt made from GOAT milk. That can be down the road a ways, though. The website, www.pecanbread.com explains how to begin the diet dairy free for an ASD child. Let us know if you have any questions after reading through all the sections there.
