Guest guest
.... Nuts that are dry roasted to be eaten as snack nuts are often coated with starch. Those for nut butter are likely just dry roasted without anything.... then salt is added to the nut butter. What brand is this cashew butter or where did you buy it? Trader Joe's by any chance? I think someone posted recently that they called on that one to be sure and it was fine. Cashews are very starchy.... the starchiest of all nuts. Cashew butter should be considered pretty advanced and even then, Elaine told us to use it sparingly. I would be surprised if you could get whole macadamias to a really smooth nut butter consistancy. And yes.... there must be something holding the salt on. I'm not really sure.... maybe with macadamias, just their natural oil is enough to hold it on. You might need to check on that. I never buy them..... they're just so, so $$$! Patti Macadamia Nuts Hello, Don't worry...I am not going to introduce nuts yet but I did by some Macadamia nuts thinking I was going to make nut butter. They are salted....is that ok. Also, I found some cashew butter in the store which says the ingredients are dry roasted cashews, salt. I am curious about the dry roasted part. During the dry roasting process do they put any starch or spices that they do not include in the ingredients? If the Macadamia nuts are salted....what keeps the salt on the nut? They must do something to them in the dry roasting process. I should look for raw, right? This is ofcourse for later on once the green poo is gone.... Thanks Again!
