Guest guest
Thanks Darren, that is very interesting. I did not know there was a test other then the A1c to determine how ones insulin and diabetes was being controlled. I see my new endocrine doc again next week and I will have to bring it up. Do you use your computer to keep a record of your daily BS? I found the web page for my accucheck and there is a cable that connects the two but I couldn't bring it up to order it or find out where to get one. I finally spoke with the diabetic doc from the ICT team in Cinci last night. The want me to drop my nightly lantus to 5 units at bed time and my novolog doses to 2 units with meals. They also want me to check my sugar 10-12 times a day. I was ready to drop all insulin because I was so scared of hypo'ing again. He said he felt very confident that the islets are beginning to function and he will call me again later this week. It is a bit soon for them, but what the heck!! Thanks for all your help and support. It really means a lot. How long did it take you to feel like " yourself " again. Or do you still feel out of sorts. I still have some RUQ pain, but it is nothing like the panc pain at all. Just sort of achey, I also still have problems with nausea and threw up the other day; but its only after eating. Maybe I just ate too much. Thanks again and keep in touch. Chrissy
