My surgeon told me the same thing after I had my gallbladder removed. I returned to him repeatedly saying he left something in, a stone, or something. I told him the symptoms were the same as before surgery. He said that was ridiculous. Intimidated and threatened with accusations of drug seeking, I never returned to him. I spent the next ten years unbeknownst to me fighting symptoms of pancreatitis. It wasn't until I had a Distal Pancreatectomy that the pancreatic surgeon said I had had this disease for a good ten years. It looked to him like it started with stones in my gallbladder. Hmmm? If I had persisted in my belief that something was wrong, my life may have turned out completely different. Early diagnosis and intervention is critical to the utmost optimum outcome related to pancreatitis. Karyn E. , RN, Exec.
