it's laproscopic, but what does he actually do when he gets in there? Does

he make your stomach smaller, or just bypass your stomach all together? Any

help anyone could give would be greatly appreciated. I'm working on my

packet now. Me and a friend from work are going to have this done together.

Do you think he would have a problem doing this surgery on me since I am

going through a divorce? I hope not. You all seem to be such great people!

The best place to start is his website. www.clos.net The diagrams are really

helpful.Look specifically at the difference between the Mason loop and The

Billroth2 (on his mainpage). Read " grumpy surgeons " ,too. Take your time and

look around. He takes a 50-70 oz. stomach and reduces it to 3-4 oz. He uses

the inner portion thus reducing the " stretch " afterwards and bypassing many

" carb " receptors. Then bypasses 6-8 ft. of small intestines. You will have a

lifetime commitment of supplements. This is a big deal. You may go through a

post-op depression, and if you're also going through a divorce it may be

rough, but only YOU can decide what you can handle. Divorce would certainly

not exclude you!

Good luck and welcome to what has been for me the best healthcare decision

I've ever made!
