I would love to hear from anyone that could give me some advice about anything you want to share with someone that is just beginning to think about it. As you might know I'm very nervous and my husband thinks it is to drastic but then of course he's the same size as the day I met him and can eat anything and everything without a worry in the world. Please help me ? Joan >> Yes the process is difficult. You will ,if you havn't already, be contacted by an ex-patient of his who's so deathly ill,she has time to harrass and threaten others with lawsuits, etc. You will get angry at Dr. Rutledge for making you go through everything, and just when you think you've completed the packet, something may change in the requirements! This surgery isn't for everyone. It isn't for someone looking for a quick fix or a miracle " Barbie " body. There is give and take. I would encourage you to read about it,look at it from every angle...including the " truth " site. Research all you can about the Billroth2,Roux-en-Y and Mason Loop.Understand this is a Modified Billroth2,not a Mason loop. Educate yourself.Heck make an appointment with a local surgeon, get his opinion.Do whatever it takes for you to feel good about your decision(whatever you decide). It's a big decision and deserves your time. Dr.R's numbers and stats are VERY good, and 1 reason is because of this pre-op process. There are easier ways to lose weight, and in my opinion, not as safe. But that's 1 persons opinion. No one person should influence you about your body. Good luck in your research and decision. As questions arise you can always bring them here,or e-mail me privately.
