Guest guest
Hi friends, Thanks to all of you who sent me well wishes for my daughter's upcoming wedding this Saturday in ton, SC. My son and grandson arrived last night without trouble from Oklahoma, and we spent a quiet evening reviewing our individual lists of responsibilities for the weekend. and Bob's suits are back from alterations, and both my men look so handsome! The phone rang off the hook all day yesterday with calls from relatives and friends who will be arriving in ton today and tomorrow, so I've got to get myself up there and get to work " hostessing " . After the 5:00 p.m. wedding at the Episcopal Church on Island we'll be going to the reception at an old historic house in downtown ton. The kids decided not to have communion, as the service is already 45 minutes and there are so many guests attending. The reception is being held at an old historic house in downtown ton immediately afterward. The house has a wide covered side porch which overlooks the yard where a tent and band will be set up. Since we have tables set up in the yard, on the porch and a few inside the french doors of the house, the weather status was of much concern to us. The forecast for the day's weather has improved significantly since earlier this week, and if you can believe the weather channel, we're now anticipating sunshine with partial clouds and only a 20% chance of precipitation! For this part of the country, that forecast looks just fine....not too blaringly hot (mid 80's), and only a minimal chance of rain. Whoopee! Chrissy, she isn't having the announcement put in The Courier, so don't waste your time searching for it. She didn't want to do this for ton, or for Hilton Head, but I may be able to send these in later. Despite all the stress and activity, my pancreas has been quiet and cooperative, though I do notice that the stress and excitement have woken me up every morning at 5:00 a.m. for the past week, unable to return to sleep, and do have knots in my stomach every morning. I don't know if I need all these additional hours each day to worry about all the details....LOL! After I finish some last minute sewing details and finish packing Bob's and my bags, , Austin and I will be heading up the road to ton. I've had to do all of Bob's packing since he is still on a trip and won't be flying in until late tonight. He's going to regret letting me pack for him, as there's no fishing t-shirts with holes in them, no old baggy khaki's with a little stain here or there, and I've even packed a tie or two! The man's going to have to spend three days without a rod in his hand and will no likely be suffering from a totally different kind of withdrawal than we speak of! He said he studied his welcoming speech on his trip, and is nervously ready to take his place beside at the back of the church on her big day.....I've packed a box of soft tissues for myself, and have Grandmother Griffeth's wedding garter for .....so I guess we're finally ready! With love, hope and prayers, Heidi
