Zoie,

I'm sorry this is so late, but I wanted you to know that Blue Shield, if

offered in you state, will accept anyone who had documented insurance

without a break inbetween for several years (I don't remember how many).

When your insurance ends, they are required to send you a letter that

certifies that you had insurance from the start date to the end date of

your policy. Blue Shield accepts this document as proof of insurance and

they will take you, regardless of your medical condition. This is was

several years ago, but I'd call Blue Shield and confirm this with them,

if it is available in your state.
