Guest guest
Gio,Sorry to hear you're having such a hard time.My daughter had a modified whipple when she was 16,and while they were in there, they filleted her pancrease and remove hundreds of stones that they would not have been able to get to any other way.She was in hospital for about 3 weeks, but felt alot better for a couple of years after-was even able to work. Now she's 21 and PC has progressed so she's diabetic(her PC is hereditary kind).Everyone is different,so I hope this has longer lasting results for you.She feels the surgery was worth it-it gave her a couple of " normal " years. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. anne
Guest guest
Gio, I can't help you with the surgery questions, because I myself haven't had a Whipple, Puestow, Beger or Transplant done. However, I just wanted to say that it is good news that your doctor finally got to see first hand and is now a firm believer in you. Hopefully until your surgery, you won't have any problems with nonbelievers anymore. As for the surgery and it's risks, every surgery has a risk just by putting the patient under anaesthetic. If a person is young and in generally good health otherwise, the risk is less than that of an old person with many health problems for example. You will wake up just fine out of it...*s* Ward
