Guest guest
Laurie, As usual, your reply and explanation about the amounts of Tylenol (acetomenophen) and aspirin in such medications as Percocet, Percodan, Darvocet, Ultracet, Vicodan, etc. was excellent! I agree with you that anyone taking these analgesics needs to be careful of the doses, and needs to be educated about their content. An excellent place to check on any medication is: http://www.rxlist.com I check this site every time I'm given a new script. It has all the information we need to know about content of the drug, side effects, warnings, contraindications and dosage amounts. There have been a few too many times where a doctor has prescribed medication for me that would have been potentially harmful for my pancreatitis, and the doctor wasn't even aware of these precautions. If you educate yourself about the drugs that you're putting into your body each day, you can avoid a potentially harmful combinations or side effects. My doctor, fortunately, was concerned about damage to my liver when I was using Percocet 10/325 in the amounts that had been prescribed by his predecessor. The quantities were too much, and could have caused much harm to my liver if I had continued. An immediate change to Oxycodone solved that problem, and I've found that this works better than the Percocet ever did. Thanks again, Laurie, for explaining it so well.
