Robyn,

My 10 month old daughter will be graduating from her DOC band in one month and

we have gotten fantastic results! My daughter also had brachecephaly (98%) and

did require two bands. We started a little later than you though (at almost 6.5

months) so hopefully you will get great correction with just one band. I am so

glad we did it and I think you will be very happy with the DOC band and CT in

general. The first week in the bank is the hardest, mostly if heat rash

develops. My suggestion is to be vigilant about toweling off the head once an

hour in the beginning and usign hydrocotison cream on the spots (just be sure to

let it compeltely dry before putting the helpmet back on). Except for that, my

daughter has had no other issues wearing the band.

Good luck!

Amy

covered a Hanger helmet at 100% but I was not comfortable with getting a

passive band (per the orthotist at the Edison location) or the six month

timeframe I was given.

I hope that his young age will aid in his reshaping. I won't be able to afford a

2nd band, so I pray it does.

Thanks for the reply. He is having some heat rash and I didn't know about

hydrocortisone cream. I'll have to get some. Overall, he seems to be tolerating

the helmet pretty well. Today is day 5 in his DOC band.

I'm so glad your daughter has shown fantastic results. My husband is a bit

skeptical about the whole deal (mostly due to cost) but completely supports

this. I really hope he'll do well.
