Guest guest
Thank goodness they finally did the ERCP and now you can begin to get the appropriate treatment. As we all know and you do more then most, getting the right diagnosis can be the hardest part. That in itself should be a huge relief for you and your family. The filetting procedure sounds like they are referring to a Peustow. I cant be certain for sure, only the docs really know what they were referring to but that is what it sounds like. In a Puestow they open the panc lengthwise to expose the main duct. Then they attach that duct directly to the intestinal wall so that it can drain easily. It is a very successful procedure and if you have pancretitis to that extent it is just what you need. All surgeries carry risks. But then again cp also has its risks. Its all relative, Gio. In the right hands the Puestow can change your life for the better. It is a big procedure, will take 4-6 hours, I think, and you will have a scar from your sternum to your belly button. However, you will feel the benefits within a few weeks post op. Then a few months you will feel like a new man. I have read your posts a lot over the last few months to ayear and Gio I am very excited for you. This will give you a great deal of relief and could let you get back toliving the life you should. Keep in touch and let us know how things progress. Warmly, Chrissy
