Guest guest
Hi everyone-- thank you again for your support a few weeks back with my incredible guilt about the banding. Our daughter was taken today for measurements, and she's considered moderate, but we got the whole 'you could wait-and-see or do a band-- your decision.' Well, my husband and I had already decided we were pulling the trigger today unless there was a VERY good reason that we couldn't. So, band is ordered and the fitting is Jan 8th. I can't wait, also, to order stickers to make it super-cute (I just got plain white). I honestly can't tell you why, but it's as if a tremendous weight is off my shoulders. I guess it's because there's a plan and we're getting this over with now vs later and it would likely only be 2-3 months total. Luckily, the plagio hasn't affected any of her facial features and her ears are pretty much in line. She will be in a STARband thru Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, which is a hospital and this is in the prosthetics & orthodics dept. As we're in the waiting room, there are two children also-- one, a yr old, waiting to be fitted for a prosthetic foot and another, 9 yrs old, that obviously had several physical and mental disabilities. So, my perspective really changed-- if this is the worst thing we're dealing with, I completely consider us VERY lucky! I feel like these holidays will be very happy now! I hope the same for everyone else! Tracey
