Pain Control Methods

Hi, everybody. I haven't posted any messages in a long time. Sorry

about that. I wanted to throw something out there for

consideration. I've run the gamut of pain meds. Started with

Percodan, Percocet, Vicodin, OxyContin (lots and lots of this very

scary drug). I became concerned with the OxyContin and discussed

this with my docs. I started on Duragesic patches, settling at 200

micrograms/hour as a dose. They are very low maintenance with the

patches needing to be changed every three days. The active pain

killer is Fentenyl (sp?), which is one of the drugs given for general

anasthesia. It is a very powerful drug. I was able to stop a very

high dose (500+ mg of OxyContin per day) cold turkey with these

things. Hope this info helps somebody!

y B.
