The beans you'd probably want to puree and thin out until you're on solid food - and the tofu you'd want to eat in little bites until then, too - but I think both foods are excellent. I also use soy milk and rice milk to make my protein smoothies, and no longer drink cow's milk at all. But I had given it up before surgery anyway. I think a vegetarian diet is in some ways the preferred one for postops - but you need to plan to get in enough protein. Good luck to you!
