Guest guest
Even though they wear the band 23 hours you are able to take it off every few hours to wipe down her head and the inside of the band. They will give you a care sheet when you pick up your band too. If she gets hot easily, I would just make sure you dress her in very light clothes. > > Hello my name is I'm new in the group. My daughter is going to have her doc band fit next week. One thing that worries my wife and I, is how to deal with the heath and perspiration. Our daughter sweats a lot through her head easily so we don't have to much sleep lately thinking how are we going to deal with that since she needs to wear the band 23 hours. Does Anybody could be so kind and give us some advice or share their experiences. We will appreciate it.Thank you. > > Sincerely, and >
Guest guest
, First, welcome to the group. As for your daughter getting hot, I agree with dressing her in very light clothes. We keep the thermostat at 66, which keeps our daughter comfortable at night. Unless we plan to be outside (when it's cool) for a prolonged period of time, I rarely put shoes and socks on her. I was told at our initial appointment that heat escapes through the feet and head and therefore I should try and keep shoes and socks OFF as much as possible. This simple idea has helped a lot for us. As a parent, we tend to want to bundle up our children, but you'll have to get that idea out of your head and know that unless you're taking her out in the snow (or freezing temps), she's probably going to be warm enough with the band and light clothes. Not sure where you live, but we are in Texas and have been enjoying nice cool fall weather. Our daughter rarely gets sweaty in her band. Here's hoping you too live in a cool area and that your daughter will have no problems at all! Best wishes!
