Guest guest
Hi group! After reading Giovanni's disaster re being dropped from his pain spec. and after receiving my " do's & don'ts " before my 1st appointment to see Dr, Netterton, the pain doc......well I'm pretty sure I will cancel the appointment! This was from a orth. surgeon for my degenerative disc disease, not actually the pancreatitis, but since I have had a L5-S1 herniation pressing on bowel & bladder nerve for over 2 years & this dude says they don't really like long-term narcotics, dah? I have been on pain meds since 97 for the CP, and don't see that changing any time soon, plus all the stuff they say they will try, I've already had, epidural nerve blocks, acupuncture, chiropratic, traction (which did help, but no one pays)....biofeedback, hello, I am a practising Buddhist, I believe meditation is biofeedback, & then they want to do all this psych. testing???? I'm not ready for the morphine pump yet to be surgically implanted, so why am I wasting the insurances' money? These same docs don't want to prescribe a hometrac lumbar traction unit, dah? (Luckily, I have a personal friend who's a M.D. who will) It's all about money! Not unless someone can give me a very good reason to see this " pain intervention specialist " , I'm not going! If u are picking up a hint of sarcasm from me re this, you are right! After over 25 years of both of these diseases, I really feel this is just a gimmick for $$$$, my internist will up my pain meds as needed. Wish I could send this packet full of rules to all of you. They treat u as if u are a child & it's very degrading! I've shown it to 3 people & they all say do not go! Advice is still welcome & thanks for listening,
