i am still searching for a formula for my 6mos old babies who seem

to have alot of the same allergies as my asd son, especially to the

milk based formulas. i tried the nutramigen and their stools are not

as loose and they are less fussy. but i think i should change to the

nutramigen because it is sucrose-free and the MCT oil is a medium

chain triglyceride oil. does this sound ok? i am sure there are

other ingredients in it which are not scd legal but i am hoping this

may be the closest to being the most scd legal of all of the choices

out there.

Pregestimil was specially designed for babies with fat malabsorption

problems. It should be used as directed by your baby's doctor. It

provides the same extensively predigested protein as Nutramigen®

LIPIL®, but it differs from Nutramigen LIPIL in its source of fat.

The fat blend in Pregestimil consists mostly of a special type of

fat called " MCT oil. " MCT oil is " medium chain triglyceride oil. "

The unique formulation of Pregestimil is designed for feeding babies

with diseases or disorders that make it difficult for them to absorb

the fat blend in most other formulas. These conditions include short–

bowel syndrome, steatorrhea (fat in the stool), cystic fibrosis or

persistent diarrhea that does not respond to treatment.

In addition to providing extensively predigested protein,

Pregestimil is also lactose–free and sucrose–free (no added table

sugar). Its carbohydrate is provided in the form of corn syrup

solids instead of lactose. The formula is hypoallergenic, or

appropriate for most babies with allergies to food proteins.

Most babies will never need a formula like Pregestimil. But for

those who do, their parents can rest assured that like the other

members of the Enfamil Family of Formulas, Pregestimil provides

complete, balanced nutrition.
