I am , Grandma to Leo who just turned 1 on Nov 13th. For months I have

been asking the ped with my concern about Leo s flat head. He has had a scan,

xray because there was a bump and at 2 weeks it was checked, As predicted it

cleared up by 3 weeks. the situation is , his Mom has a developmental disability

and while in her care with my son he was in a pack n play for hours at a time

until my son would get home from work and take over, Things changed and the baby

with my son have moved into my home and I care for him while my son works nites,

But because this was in the begining Leo has a flat head. All measurments, ears

, eyes fine with no neck problems. I am experienced with this because the little

girl I take care of had the serious form of Plagio with tort. I used to share

taking her to therapy and we did excersizes 4 times a day, Shes perfect now and

3 yrs old. Leo s prob is positional. I share temp custody with the other

grandparents so it seems I am on my own with this. At his late age I am

wondering about the CST. Could someone please explain this and how it works?

Would my chiro be able to rec a specialestin CST? please feel free to email me

thank you all and I look foward to sharing experiences

Hi ,

you sounds like a great grandma. If his head shape isn't good, getting a band is

really the best option, especially at his age. CST may help, but it is less

proven, and I doubt you'll get the same correction. As I understand it is gentle

pressure (the weight of a nickle) that stimulates the cerbral-spinal fluid. It

is considered an alternative treatment. I haven't tried it, and admit to being

skeptical, but some people say it works. I would recommend taking him for a

consultation regarding a band. Maybe once you get a professional opinion it

might be easier to get the other care takers on board.
