Guest guest
We are in need of help with injecting Laikyns shots! --We can't remember what Dr.H said about the inject ease. Are you suppose to pinch the skin up a bit or not? --Laikyn moves alot and cries when we give her the shot. What are you parents feeling is the best way to inject? We have been using the belly area but tonight she moved and the needle came out so we had to inject her twice. That what a whole lot of fun let me tell you! I myself am having a hard time with this. I go in and cry in the bathroom when I am done for some reason. Did you all go through a gulity time? She only cries for a second but it's so hard to hold her down and give her the shot. It all goes so fast and she gets over this really well but I think, will she ever get use to this and not fight us? As you all can see I am so confused with this whole thing! I really don't see how she will ever get use to it if ever time we get things ready she is scared. I just don't want this to always be a battle!! Sorry for venting so much, I guess this new step is hard for me to get through! Z
Guest guest
Hi , We use a pen device to give his shots. We were told to pinch the skin while giving the shot. Also, we give him his shots in his butt. When we first started we were giving his shots while he was awake. The doctor said as long as agreed we could give him his shots while he was sleeping. So we talked it over with and he preferrs it that way. Sometimes he jumps but it is rare. It is very rare that he remembers any shot and we find his sleep is not distubed by a nightly shot. I hope this helps. Ken M > > We are in need of help with injecting Laikyns shots! > > --We can't remember what Dr.H said about the inject ease. Guest guest
, Me again. One thing about giving them at night once Laikyn is asleep is some parents have made thier children afraid to sleep because it does wake them up and scares them. However Chole has fell asleep on us early a time or two and we have had to do that sometimes she will cry a tiny bit and fall straight back to sleep other times she gets really upset because we woke her and shes cranky. We normally do it after bath time. Every child is different though so it may be worth a shot:) Good luck, Reah and Chloe:) kmerrith wrote: Hi , We use a pen device to give his shots. Guest guest
Yeah - my daughter woke a little bit when she was first starting, about 5 years old. As we got more experienced at giving the shot (which means being quicker at it), now she never even budges. Sometimes she goes " hmmmm " in her sleep, but she still asks us to do it. But the important thing is NOT to use an alcohol wipe. The only time our doctor and nurse told us to use it is if we are camping and her skin is really dirty. Guest guest
Hi , We also use the injectease. You do not have to pinch the skin up. We do not use the belly at all. We use 's thighs as that is where he has the most fat. We alternate legs daily. We do it after is in a deep sleep. We just pull down his pajamas and do the shot. We do not use the alcohol pads at all as they can cause the shot to sting. We make sure to let the GH warm up for at least 20 minutes and usually a little longer before doing his shot. Sometimes he fusses a little and tries to brush our hands away, but sometimes he doesn't even notice at all. Hang in there, Judith, Steve, (RSS) and (non RSS) 5 year old twins
Guest guest
Hi , When we first started giving Jordan his shots it was a nightmare too. We had to hold him down because he would kick and scream and sometimes my husband could barely restrain him. But we did it and believe me it got so much easier. Now he just lays there and barely moves. He is used to it now. We use an injectease too and I find it to be great. And Jordan helps sometimes by pressing the button himself and pressing down on the syringe. We used to have all types of bandaids for him to choose from too - batman, spongebob, spiderman... Now he doesn't even want to use them anymore.
