VERY POETIC, I LOVE IT

In the beginning of Fall, you can hear the sound of children running

through your yard, calling each others' name until suddenly they all

stand still. Statue is the name of the game. There's a chance to

tag your opponent if the wind doesn't nudge you over, while your

body fights to stand on one tiny limb with your arms stretched out

as if grasping for a special branch or post to keep you from losing

your turn.

Leaves the color of deep, deep red, fiery orange and sunshine yellow

silently fall to claim the dry earth. Many lose the battle to be

tossed and turned by gripping teeth while carefully placed in

mountainous heaps for a mighty king to protect his domain.

In the distance, the fragrance of cedar and oak fills the brisk air,

the fate of the leaf always in fear. A gentle breeze carefully

picks up several tattered bruised leaves, one by one gently

uncovering a statue, waiting for its presence to be announced.

The excitement of the game, the thrill of the search, the coolness

of the air filling your lungs while the smell of smoky leaves

lingers past your nose.

It's time again for Fall.

I liked your last post about seeing the positive in life - so,

thought you might like this.
