Hi,

A post from another online group I am in...

Subject: SSI eligibility & long hospitalizations

The information Janet shared about SSI eligibility for children who

are hospitalized for long periods of time or that are in a

residential facility is correct.

To clarify, if a child is hopstialzed more than one calendar month,

or is in a residential facility, the child is automatically eligible

for a monthly SSI (Supplemental Security Income) cash benefit, and

automatically becomes eligible for MassHealth Standard, REGARDLESS

of family income.

For more information, or to apply, call the social security

administration at 1-. You can also visit www.ssa.gov.

There is a checklist of all the information you will need to apply

on that site, or you can contact me directly and I will give you a

list.

Sincerely,

Beth Dworetzky
