Guest guest
Jodie, Hey darlin'. I know how frustrating it can get but don't we get to just enjoy our children? My daughter is so beautiful and the sweetest heart god can allow, you know sometimes I just want to say so what shes small!!!!!!! Right now thats the only trouble we have. Maybe once shes in school I will have to worry about her getting sick and I don't know maybe I should be worrying about sugars now. No one has ever told me to check. Putting our children through all of this, is it worth it?This is thier childhood we're messing with. Are we keeping our children from being children? My daughter always use to ask what did she do? " whats the matter? " she would say when we first started the shots and now I may have to consider a g-tube? It's too much! I want to get an appt. to see Dr. H but cant get in touch with her. Her office told me to email her but she hasn't replied yet. Will she? I need her to tell me really why I am putting my perfectly normal precious small chlid through this. Guest guest
Jodie, That is awesome! I'm so glad that your apt went well and that has had such a good gain. Gives me something to look forward to too and makes those shots worth while. Good luck with the blood sugar. Guest guest
Hey Jodie, Glad you made it back home and that was a good idea to prepare for longer, cause we stayed in New York for a full week for our one day appt!! I am sooo happy to hear that the GHT is doing great things for your son. How very exciting! Jodie, I have been using the Ultra. I demanded a replacement from One Touch because my results were so far off. My replacement is no better. I feel that the reason everyone is so excited about the " Ultra " is because you don't have to have so much blood. But I'm not at all pleased with the results you get. I'm actually quite bummed about it, because - being a diabetic - I'm tired of warming hands and milking fingers to get enough blood. I may just go back to my previous model. Guest guest
I don't know if this helps but Isaac's endo recommends the Ascensia Contour. I was told that there was only one other meter that required less blood and they really recommended the Contour over that meter. We have been using this one since June and when we take it while Isaac is sleeping (poke his toes) he doesn't even wake up some times. We put warm water in a diaper and wrap around his foot for a few minutes. We don't even have to " milk " his toes!
